Due to time constraints and it now taking a lot
longer to think of ways to fill the image , I have decide to come up with a
series of smaller prints. The prints will contain small selected sections of
the large image I have already made. In addition these will be screen printed
using single colour screen prints onto calico canvas fabric and made into individual
wall hangings. The reason for changing to screen print is that digital print
has a three day turn around and if I was to print the large image I would be disappointed
with the outcome. I had already reduced the size down but I felt that it
was still too crowed and the different elements/ sections of the image needed
more space in order to be seen and investigated properly. For example the camp
when the image would be printed is far to small and would be lost. The people
as well because they are small but an integral part they risk this too. The
overall image is not well balanced. The boldness of the sea/river takes away
value from the rest of the image and could have been controlled better.
Instead of having a massive image it makes much more sense for it to be broken down and made into a series. That way the differnt images can been seen clearly and can work as indivual prints or as a series. They would also fit well into an exhabition enviroment. Fitting in with making the work exsist away from where it was created and placed in the outside world for an external audiance. Example below of potenial print.
