Sketches of anatomical drawing of the female body.
The reason for looking at anatomical drawings if that I aim to change the perception the female bodies are not sexual objects but functioning form. From researching into anatomical drawings I am starting to develop an understanding of the potential to use shape mo. The sketches that I have done are quite shape based and I think I could easily translate these onto a wide rang of different mediums.
I quite like how obscure some of the sketches are that you need to give you mind time to translate it. It is probably a more sensitive and less obvious way of communicating my aim.
Colour could also be a really good tool to use here too. Maybe staying away from colours that are already associated with that gender , try to think of others.
Pattern and repetition as well could be another potential way of working. Merging the images together to from it?
I do intend to lino print some element of these sketches. Doing detailed prints of some of these is a nod to the old process of etching that were used to make the original drawings. And using a different print method and techniques I hope to find a more contemporary style.

The Trews - russell brand.
- The Key question Russell Brand targets at the start of this debate is, Who Decides What Feminism Is ? Is it men like Piers Morgan or Women like Emma Watson?
- Now he state that he has not been ' The worlds greatest feminst.' But he talks about his on look of feminist issues given now that he has a daughter now. They have a positive change.
- Brands states that feminism is and should be about self deturmination- the right to decide how your gender , sexuality, and identity is reseved and expressed.
- But sadly it is going out to a mainly male dominated world.
- Who determins the rules of feminism? Anyone who is a feminist ?
- Piera Morgan dosn't agree with feminism.
- Emma Watson explanation was succinct and to the point, It is about, freedom , liberation and equality.
- In conclusion feminism is about freedom to express what you want.

Amendment to practical proposal.
I want to focus on feminism, main how women are still viewed within society today , I am going to start off by study stereotypes and the parts of a women body that are objectified. From there I intend to create a new and non objective way of showing a women body as a function being and not an object that conforms the ' The Male Gaze'- Mulvey . Then try though shape and print to create piece of work the empower women. I intend to read several books including Caitlin Moran's "How to be a women" and look into why protests such as the women march that has recently occurred still messer in a day and age where it is claimed the gender equality has improve, when protest like this where performed by the suffragette movement in the 1900's. I aim to gain from this information, different options on how women are viewed and treated within society and what changes in there eyes have really taken place and how they think the situation could improve. I will build on my own feminist views around this subject using the new information I find. As I carry out this visual investigation I will hopefully narrow down to specific points and the more resolved outcomes will I hope reflect and communicate these points.
Plan :
Starting point -
take key notes , quotes and start developing visually from them. Also take note of any-other theorists that share or appose opinons.
Research into modern day women marches- why are they happening? what is the aim? who or what are they centred towards and how dose this prove that gender equality is still not present in todays society.
Print, create shape based work based on findings that can communicate/ show opinions and or points that collectively come for my own and other views.
By using print and shape as a medium and process, it means that the images can have the intention to be mass produced and shape is a strong visual communicator that if used well can produce some clear and sticking outcomes.

Rebbeca Trainster- All the single ladys
'Throughout American's history, the start of adult life for women - whatever else it might have been destined to include- had been typically marked by marriage,'.
Women within american used to be married at 20-22 but now this has risen to 27.
Trainster highlights the suggestion that the dely of marriage were intentional actions of feminist protest.
However singlehood is no linger as restrictive to women as it used to be for example the vote, can borrow money, start businesses, have children without formally attaching themsleves to a man.
She explores the role of single women throughout modern history and identifies the unmarried women who fought for voting rights, wrote litterly classics and Queen Elizabeth 1st. Unmarried women are some of the most successful writers, activist and thinkers.
Trainster quotes Charlotte Bronte who had to marry at 38 in order to financial succure her farther in his old age' it is a solemn and strange and perilous thing for a women to become a wife.'
She also refers to how fictional character who she admired as a child , she didn't like when they got married because it ment an end to the adventures. But if a women remained single then it would result in her fate become similar to that of Miss Havisham and Lily Bart.
Also in reality women have been suggested of confusing and threating the established order.
' Men would become less central to economic security, social standing, sexual life and , as it turned out, to parenthood.'
Trainster made a significant decision that when she urned 30 she would have a baby on her own. this is an option that is becoming evermore increasing with modern women.
This book is needed society is changing and feminism is increasing in popularity. I belive in the right that women should have control over there own bodies and not be treated as though they can be passed around and only reach adult hood when they have a husband and children. Not marrying should not define a women.

Women in prison within Canada
- Femen is an international women's movement. Topless female activists ' Painted with the slogans and crowned with flowers.'
- The female activist are specially trained , ' physically, psychologically ready to implement the humanitarian task of any degree of complexity and level of provocation.'
- Femen Ideology:
- Sextrimism
- Atheism.
- Feminism.
Femen world out look:
- 'We live in the world of male economic, cultural and ideological occupation.' ' Woman is a slave.'
- They want to take ownership back over there bodies.
- 'Complete control over women's bodies is the key instrument of her suppression; The woman's sexual demarche is the key to her liberation'.
- Complete victory over patriarchy.
I personal think that this group is a bit extreem , not in there actions but beliefs. They belive that Sextrimism is a vital way of wining the war of the sexes , but I think that no extrisim of any kind is working for the betterment of both sides involved. And I think that there views are strictly women orientated which is really good but for society to be fair and equal both sides need to cooperate equally and i think that there beliefs are the opposite of this. There actions of walking around topless I think is a bold and brave move as women chests have been sexualized , but as have men. However when men walk around topless it is not a big issues. Happens regularly in public places like swimming pools, beaches and in the streets. How ever when women do this it is seen as wrong , disturbing and offensive. Why?! there was the whole scandal over breast feeding in public and how some people found it offensive. I am starting to get the sense that the female body has become throughout out all of society and definitely in some religions a sacred object. The word OBJECT again goes against what feminist beliefs are. A women should be allowed and the have the option to be free and have control over her own body. This could be a really key point which I want to focus more around. As there are many accounts of women bodies being objectified and judged within society and religon. Female genial mutilation, being disallowed to breast feed in public , choosing to have a baby without a male counterpart. I need to investigate into these subjects more.
